Route around Myntho Common.
  1. Leave the carpark via a footpath behind the toilet block. This path skirts around the right side of Foel Gron. Where the path starts to descend, a narrow stony path to the left winds to the summit of Foel Gron. Those who take on the short climb will be rewarded with superb views at the summit.
  2. On descending Foel Gron you will reach a crossing of paths. Take the broad grassy path ahead that ascends Myntho Common veering gently to the left.
  3. The footpath turns left just before a metal gate. Follow it as it skirts around a fenced field. It then heads northwards in the general direction of Garn Fadryn (371m), the larger of the peaks in the distance.
  4. As the path descends it narrows and passes through thick bracken. On reaching a farm track turn right and pass around a cottage (Tan y Craig) to a lane.
  5. Turn right and head up the lane. After about half a mile you will reach a junction.
  6. Turn right down the lane passing a post box in front of a white cottage and leads back to the starting point in Myntho. However, after about 500m, a lane on the left leads to the foot of Foel Fawr and a second opportunity for great views for the energetic.
