- Leave the carpark and head right towards the centre of Nefyn. Take the first left to the beach.
- Just where the road starts to descend to the beach, pick up the coastal footpath on the left. The path runs above Nefyn beach affording great views of the coast.
- At a junction turn right continuing to follow the coastal path. On a clear day you will see Anglesey across the water. Where the path forks, head left and get first glimpses of Porthdinllaen to the west.
- On reaching a house, head right and along a narrow lane to a junction, where you turn right to continue on the coastal path.
- Where the lane bends to the left, continue ahead passing another house, where the path narrows.
- After about 250 m take a narrow path on the left that passes between two fields. [If you need refreshment, continue along the coastal path to the Cliff Inn in Morfa Nefyn. This is also the route if you wish to combine the walk with the Porthdinllaen walk.] The path widens at a white cottage (Bryn Bras). Continue ahead passing another dwelling on the left until you reach the B4417.
- Head left along the B4417 for 500m, passing Ty’N Coed touring park. Shortly after this take a footpath signposted to the right. [However, you may prefer to continue along the B4417 and take the shorter route back to the starting point.]
- The marked pathway is roughly straight ahead, passing through 2 metal gates, 2 kissing gates and along the edge of a field, before bending slightly left to a metal gate at Ty Mawr farm. The path continues through the farmyard, passing to the left of a second building and reaching to a wooden gate.
- Take the left path between hedges to another metal gate. Cross a stream into a field and then to a kissing gate in the right corner. Follow the wide grassy path through bracken to a lane.
- Cross the lane to a metal gate and into a field. Head to a metal kissing gate partially hidden in the left corner. Pass through this and keep to the right side of the next field heading towards farm buildings in the distance. Pass the first building then, shortly afterwards, look for a kissing gate hidden in the hedge on the right.
- Head left along the A497 for a short distance, passing a dwelling (Penbryn Holborn) on the left, before reaching a footpath sign by a metal gate on the opposite side of the road.
- Pass through the kissing gate here and head across the field to the right of the mound and join a track that passes around the far side. Descend to a metal gate, and then through another immediately on the left. The path follows the left bank of the stream for a while, then crosses over it to a metal kissing gate. Head left into a field and cross it until reaching a metal gate at the end of the hedge on the right-hand side. Follow the drive to the road.
- Head left and then left again onto Stryd y Plas, passing Seion Chapel on your right. Continue to a roundabout in the centre of Nefyn.
- Go straight across at the roundabout taking the B4417 to return to the carpark.
