Myntho Common
An easy walk on grassy paths and quiet country lanes. There are two opportunities to climb hills for spectacular views.
Distance: 3 miles
Time: 1h 15m
Carpark: Carpark on the B4413 in Myntho near to Ysgol Foel Gron.
Postcode: LL53 7RN
Coordinates: 52.850118, -4521908
Notes: The footpath up Foel Gron is stony and care is needed not to slip. Although not essential in dry weather, walking boots are recommended.

- Leave the carpark via a footpath behind the toilet block. This path skirts around the right side of Foel Gron. Where the path starts to descend, a narrow stony path to the left winds to the summit of Foel Gron. Those who take on the short climb will be rewarded with superb views at the summit.
- On descending Foel Gron you will reach a crossing of paths. Take the broad grassy path ahead that ascends Myntho Common veering gently to the left.
- The footpath turns left just before a metal gate. Follow it as it skirts around a fenced field. It then heads northwards in the general direction of Garn Fadryn (371m), the larger of the peaks in the distance.
- As the path descends it narrows and passes through thick bracken. On reaching a farm track turn right and pass around a cottage (Tan y Craig) to a lane.
- Turn right and head up the lane. After about half a mile you will reach a junction.
- Turn right down the lane passing a post box in front of a white cottage and leads back to the starting point in Myntho. However, after about 500m, a lane on the left leads to the foot of Foel Fawr and a second opportunity for great views for the energetic.
